Which appliances use a 6A plug top?

A 6 amp plug top is the correct choice for appliances that draw up to about 1,000 watts: table and floor lamps, ceiling and pedestal fans, televisions and set-top boxes, phone and laptop chargers, mixers and grinders, toasters, irons of lower wattage and most audio equipment. It matches the standard 6A sockets found in every Indian home and office.

Wiring the plug top

Open the cover, feed the cable through the cord grip and connect earth to the top pin and live and neutral to the two lower pins as marked inside the body. Tighten each terminal, close the cover and secure the cord grip. Use the correct cable size for the appliance and follow the guidance of the Bureau of Indian Standards for safe wiring practice.
